Former Premier of Quebec and former Quebec Health Minister
Philippe Couillard received his medical degree specializing in neurosurgery in 1985 from Université de Montréal. He served as professor at Université de Sherbrooke from 1996 to 2003 and as Chief Surgeon and Chairman. In 2003, he was elected as MNA for the Liberal Party in Quebec in the riding of Mount-Royal, and became Health Minister. In 2013, Dr. Couillard was elected leader of the Quebec Liberal Party, and led the Quebec Liberals to victory in 2014, serving as Premier of Quebec until 2018. After leaving politics, he joined the board of the Canadian Cancer Society, and became a senior business advisor at Dentons.
