Former Alberta Health Minister and former Leader of the Alberta Party
Stephen Mandel was first elected to Edmonton City council in 2001 to 2004, then elected Mayor for three terms ending in 2013. He was appointed Health Minister in 2014, and elected MLA for Edmonton Whitemud in a by-election. Stephen served as leader of the Alberta Party from 2018 until 2019. He is currently Chancellor of Concordia University of Edmonton. Before entering public service, Stephen built and ran a successful business. As President of Mandel Group, he led the company’s activities in residential and commercial real estate development and construction.
