Former British Columbia Health Minister
Terry Lake is a former councillor and Mayor of the City of Kamloops and former Member of the BC Legislature for Kamloops North Thompson. Lake served as Environment Minister from 2011-2013 and Health Minister from 2013-2017. As Health Minister, Lake oversaw responses to the Ebola outbreak in 2014 and the Opioid Overdose Public Health Emergency from 2015-2017. He created the Office of the Seniors’ Advocate, the first one in Canada, and directed a full review of the province’s health care needs to optimize services for a changing population. Lake is a former veterinarian who has worked in radio journalism, lectured at Thompson Rivers University, and served as Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility for Hexo Corporation.
